Each winter London has a lot to offer for the outdoors lovers. The royal parks with their events and Christmas markets are definitely the places to visit.
So if you love winter activities combined with Christmas atmosphere you should not miss out on the below happenings.
Hyde Park – Winter Wonderland
23 November 2012 – 6 January 2013
Don’t miss this magical fair in Hyde Park, which features the UK’s largest ice rink, a huge observation wheel and lots of festive treats. This year Winter Wonderland will also contain the Magical Ice Kingdom, a sparkling frozen realm in which visitors will encounter more than 500 ice sculptures. It’s easy to see why Winter Wonderland is one of London’s most popular festive attractions. Taking over a sizeable chunk of Hyde Park, the event features the UK’s largest ice rink, a tempting Christmas market, the giant observation wheel, family favourite Zippos Circus and the Bavarian Village, where you can always find a sizzling sausage and a warming cup of mulled wine.
Ramble in the Parks: Christmas with Victoria and Albert – Kensington Gardens
14 December 2012
As you walk through London’s Royal Parks, you can feel the benefits of escaping the stress of the city and getting some fresh air. Encapsulating wildlife, history and heritage, the Parks, are some of London’s most vital assets. As the year’s shortest day approaches, join the Isis Education Centre team for a stroll through Kensington Gardens to look at the seasonal folklore, traditions and feasts that have developed to sustain us through winter’ darkest days.
If you would like to combine your London Christmas treat in the Royal Parks with a stay in one of Thistle hotels, you should get in touch with our teams at Thistle Hyde Park and Thistle Kensington Gardens.
