May we present…Tilly (16) and Ellis (17) Jephtha, winners of our ‘Ultimate Afternoon Tea’ Challenge hosted at The Rougemont Hotel in Exeter last week.

The scones with thick Devonshire clotted cream and homemade passion fruit and raspberry jam and scones with cream, raspberry blackcurrant and rhubarb jam that the two sisters produced convinced the judging panel especially because of the texture and taste of the scones and the overall presentation of the dishes.


As part of the first prize, the sisters’ winning entry will feature as the hotel’s specialist, traditional Devonshire afternoon tea when the hotel launches its new menu of teatime treats in mid-April. Besides this honour, they also received an overnight stay each and two complimentary dinner experiences for up to six people.
