Prince William has been installed Knight of the Thistle, which is the highest honour in Scotland. The ceremony at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, gathered members of the Royal Family as well as hundreds of guests.

The title honours people who have held public office or have contributed to the national life in a significant manner. Large crowds gathered around the sides of the Royal Mile showing their love and support for the Royal Family.

 

 

The ceremony was held in the internal Thistle Chapel and broadcasted to those in the cathedral with the service continuing for 45 mins full of prayers, readings and hymns. After singing the national anthem, a special parade down the Royal Mile began to celebrate the jubilee.
