A while ago, we reported that Thistle had partnered with the Springboard Charity because we think that giving back is important. In our post, we had already announced that besides the ongoing support, more fundraiser events were going to be organised throughout the year.
This point in time has now arrived with another group of Thistle staff taking on a Charity Challenge. On Thursday, 19 May, Kevin, Simon and Jan from the Thistle Westminster Maintenance team will accomplish the Thistle Westminster’s Charity Bike Ride for Springboard.
The tour will start at the Thistle Barbican at 11am and will then continue passed Thistle Euston, Bloomsbury Park, Kingsley, Thistle Marble Arch, Thistle Hyde Park, Thistle Kensington Gardens and finish at Thistle Westminster.
For the less sportive and more art-talented amongst us, Thistle has also organised a cake decorating class for the Springboard Charity, which will happen on Thursday, 12 May from 19:00-21:00h at Thistle Westminster. The event is supported by The Cocoa Box Company, who will be running the Cup Cake Decorating Class.
The Springboard Charity provides education and relevant support services to help young people, the unemployed, and disadvantaged groups prepare for work in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry. If you want to know more, check out their website.
Would you like to help too? It’s easier than you think!
On the day of the Bike Ride For Charity, the team will carry a bucket with them in which donations will be collected all along the route.
On any other day, if you’d like to support the Springboard Charity through us, you can do so when you check out of any Thistle Hotel. We’ll ask you if you want to pay an extra £1 on your bill, which will go directly to the Springboard Charity.
It’s that simple.
