A new opportunity has emerged recently to offer an alternative venue for people to relax after the St Parick’s Day Parade. Mark Kelly, General Manager of Thistle Birmingham hails from Dublin – and in fact is a great Dubliners fan!

The Band was introduced to him by Pat Murphy Wright at the Bob Brolly concert at Symphony Hall. That chance meeting led to Mark generously offering to host a ‘chill-out’ following the sell out Mick Hipkiss concert at Birmingham Town Hall on 16th February.  In fact a mighty session ensued afterwards.

The increasing Irish profile of the Thistle Birmingham is further advanced by the appearance of The Hurling Boys on St Patrick’s Day from 2pm to 5pm – not to mention the tastefully arranged menu and Guinness promotion organised by Mark especially for this day. “It is an ideal place for families, everyone from grannies to babies will feel at ease.”

For those wishing to extend their stay and sleep off the effects of the celebration, rooms are being made available at a favourable rate.  Maintaining the Irish theme at the Thistle Birmingham, a special ‘Sparkling emerald’ fundraising event in support of Birmingham Children’s Hospital is taking place on Saturday 30th March, tickets priced very reasonably at £25.00 each to include reception drinks and canapés, a three course dinner and entertainment from the ever popular Father Teds plus DJ.
