Oxford Street

Oxford street is one of the busiest shopping areas of London with thousands of shoppers looking for the ideal festive gift for friends and family. These twinkly illuminations traditionally switched on by a lineup of popular celebrities and this year it was Jessie J together with James Arthur and Conor Maynard , who hosted the event of flicking the switch and turning on the Oxford Street illuminations for another Christmas.

Bond Street

Each year Bond Street Christmas lights transform the area into a complete winter wonderland, bubbling with activity and entertainment. Bond Street Christmas displays definitely add their festive glow to the boutiques and designer stores lining this fashionable part of the West End. This year, the event of switching on of the Bond Street Christmas lights won’t be celebrated with a big ceremony like in previous years, however it is still worth to see the traditional Christmas displays while browsing your favourite Bond Street stores.

Regent Street

On Saturday 9 November, we saw Regent Street light up for Christmas and welcomed in the festive season with a whole host of celebrity guests. Look up on your next visit to Regent Street and notice that the Mile of Style is now laced with beautiful lights, depicting this year’s sponsor, the DreamWorks animated film Mr Peabody and Sherman. These Christmas lights will no doubt attract thousands of shoppers throughout the festive season, making for one of the major tourist attractions in London this Christmas.

Carnaby Street

The 13 streets that make up this prime west Soho shopping area always make an effort for Christmas – and this year is no exception. Expect a flock of giant robins to start bobbing along from November 14, as the Carnaby Street takes a ‘Year of the Robin’ theme this year, There will be a variety of robin sizes, including five huge illuminated robins suspended mid-flight above the streets. Do not miss this year’s spectacular Christmas installation– thousands of robins have flocked to the Carnaby street– creating a spectacular sight.
