675 events at 193 venues over 3 weeks, outdoor performances, comedy shows and workshops - Clearly, Brighton Fringe Festival is an event not to miss!

Brighton Fringe Festival runs alongside the main Brighton Festival and takes place in May each year. Brighton Fringe is the third largest open access festival in the world and last year! With its 625 events, over 100,000 tickets sold and attendance reaching more than 180,000 people, it was claimed to become  “the best Brighton Fringe yet” by many.

Brighton Fringe is an open-access mixed arts event, which means that any performers wishing to perform, can approach the Festival. Therefore, performers always vary from absolute beginners to professional level.

In a similar style to the Royal Mile at the Edinburgh Festival, Brighton Fringe has got its “Fringe City”. This is a free event, taking place in the New Road and Jubilee Street area of Brighton every Saturday of May in form of an outdoor showcase of unique fringe performances. Fringe City thereby provides a chance to celebrate everything fringe – from performances, stalls, sideshows, dance-offs, acrobatic balloonists, roaming choirs, mechanical horses to surreal walkabout performers.
