Although by far the most popular, Brighton is not the only beach in the UK. Actually, there are plenty of other way more scenic, sandy and beautiful beaches that are the perfect destination when the weather graces us with some sunny spells!
Bournemouth is one of the nicest city beaches around UK and it also is the home of Europe’s first artificial surf reef. As it is situated under a cliff, the bay has its own micro-climate with some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK. If you don’t feel like swimming, there’s plenty of other things to do – heaps of family attractions, museums and things like flying displays. A guaranteed quality beach-time!
If you’re a fan of surfing, look no further than Newquay! It’s array of beaches has different tides and sizes of waves for the variety of skills that it’s visitors might have. There is also a Blue Reef Aquarium providing great family entertainment. Watergate Bay which is only two miles away features the ultimate extreme sport activities – dually bodyboarding, kitesurfing and traction kiting.
Accessible only by air or sea, the Isles of Scilly is perhaps one of the UK’s best kept secrets. The archipelago of 145 islands, 45 km off the southwestern coast of Cornwall, boasts endless beaches that draw divers, surfers, and sailors alike. Search for shells at Periglis on St. Agnes, one of Scilly’s five inhabited islands, or simply take a romantic stroll along the emerald waters of Pentle Bay on Tresco.
